- Formulating the Air Pollution Control Plan (2024-2027) with eight major strategies to continuously improve PM2.5 concentrations in the air and specifically address ozone concentrations by promoting region-specific reduction strategies.
- In response to the 2050 net-zero emissions goal and resource recycling policies, the department will promote the electrification of public buses, installation of charging facilities, facilitation of the replacement of old vehicles with electric ones, adoption of shore power for ships, control of renewable fuels and alternative fuels at the source to achieve the dual benefits of reducing air pollution and carbon emissions.
- The focus has shifted from end-of-pipe control to source reduction, with the implementation of economic incentives to encourage businesses to voluntarily reduce emissions. These incentives include systems for rewarding or offsetting air pollution fees, exchange mechanisms for air pollution increments resulting from development activities, and periodic review of air pollution fee rates based on environmental and prevention costs.
